Last week CAMDL Executive Director, Taweh Johnson, fully participated in the stakeholder consultation on the development of Liberia’s National Data Policy at Mamba Point Hotel in Monrovia.
The consultation was an important step in shaping a coherent national data governance framework that will support Liberia’s digital transformation and socio-economic development.
As part of a broader continental initiative to domesticate the African Union Data Policy Framework (AUDPF), CAMDL’s participation has contributed greatly to ensuring that the forthcoming National Data Policy reflects inclusive perspectives and aligns with regional standards.
Taweh Johnson emphasized data integrity and protection because manipulated data directly causes the spread of both misinformation and disinformation.
The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications-Republic of Liberia, organized the consultation in collaboration with the African Union and GIZ and facilitated by the Collaboration on International ICT Policy in East and Southern Africa.
We are grateful for the invitation.
