CAMDL Executive Director, Taweh Johnson, was a panelist during the panel discussion on Digital Rights, Expression, and Internet Freedom and Combating Misinformation and Media Literacy held last week at the 2025 Mano River Union Internet Governance Forum in Liberia.

CAMDL Executive Director, Taweh Johnson, shared useful ways for students and participants from Sierra Leone to stay safe online, such as not accepting friend requests from locked profile accounts on Facebook and not sharing personal details online. Moreover, Taweh Johnson cautioned students and participants not to be deceived by links on WhatsApp and other social media platforms with information on free scholarship opportunities and free giveaways.

Furthermore, Taweh Johnson highlighted the Media and Digital Literacy initiatives of Campaigners Against Misinformation and Disinformation in Liberia and the need for the Mano River Union to craft its information Integrity Policy based on the adopted Model Policy for Information Integrity in West Africa and the Sahel. Information Integrity fosters internet governance because it directly impacts trust, human rights, democracy, and public safety online.

We are grateful to the Office of the Regional Coordinator of the Mano River Union Internet Governance Forum and the Liberia Internet Governance Forum for the invitation.
