CAMDL has begun community engagement on the danger of misinformation and disinformation in Liberia

Campaigners Against Misinformation and Disinformation, a local nonprofit in
Liberia, has begun community engagement to raise awareness regarding the danger of misinformation and disinformation in Liberia and educate citizens on how to verify information before sharing it.

The Organization began the community engagement in the Township of Westpoint at the weekend. The Misinformation and Disinformation awareness campaign was also held at two intellectual centers in Westpoint: U-2 Intellectual Center and the Fernado Intellectual Center. Over 35 Members of the two intellectual Centers learned how to verify information before sharing it.

According to the Executive Director, Taweh Johnson, the organization is going into the communities to highlight the need to verify information before sharing it because the spread of misinformation and disinformation in Liberia can lead to instability in the country. Taweh Johnson has stated that the Misinformation and Disinformation Music is also part of the awareness Campaign.
