The journey toward a stronger and more inclusive Disability Bill for Liberia continues!
Following the Western Regional Cluster Consultation in Bomi, the National Commission on Disabilities (NCD) and the Alliance on Disabilities in Liberia, in collaboration with partners and stakeholders, successfully convened the Central Regional Cluster Consultation in Gbarnga, Bong County, bringing together stakeholders from Lofa, Bong, and Nimba Counties.
The consultation brought together about 35 participants, inclusive of representation from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR), NUBA, CAB, Ministry of local government, NUOD, the media, Liberia National Police, and other stakeholders.
Campaigners Against Misinformation and Disinformation in Liberia(CAMDL) is pleased to receive positive feedback from participants and the organizers regarding our coordination of the consultations. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and remain committed to ensuring that the consultations are well-coordinated and meaningful for all involved.
Participants reviewed and discussed the proposed Disability Bill, sharing perspectives and recommendations intended to ensure that the legislation responds to the realities, priorities, and rights of persons with disabilities.
From Bomi to Bong, the consultation process continues to demonstrate the importance of bringing diverse voices into the development of legislation that will directly impact the lives of persons with disabilities.
