The World Bank Group in Liberia invited CAMDL Executive Director, Taweh Johnson to serve as one of the panelists at the Digital Liberia Week 2025 during the panel discussion on Financing and Governing Liberia’s Cybersecurity Future.
Our gratitude to the World Bank Group in Liberia and Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications, Republic of Liberia for this awesome opportunity.
A few insights he shared:
-Misinformation and Disinformation are major cyber threats. Besides, Misinformation and Disinformation cause distrust in digital platforms.
– Online tools that Campaigners Against Misinformation and Disinformation in Liberia( CAMDL) empowers citizens to use in order to stay safe online and avoid becoming victims of digital fraud and scams.
– Artificial Intelligence accelerates cyber attack. Liberia has to develop or utilize AI software that can detect cyber attack and protect digital platforms.
– Inclusive Digital Literacy education is key in ensuring Liberia becomes a cyber-resilient country. One of the pillars of the National Cybersecurity Strategy focuses on sustainability. CAMDL Executive Director, Taweh Johnson, recommended that Inclusive Digital Literacy Education be integrated into already existing subjects such as Computer Education at schools. When this is done, new teachers will not be hired for digital Literacy Education. This is sustainable because it cuts down on cost.
