Misinformation and Disinformation have real-life consequences that can lead to deaths, riots, and uprisings.
CAMDL conducted a Misinformation and Disinformation Awareness Campaign at the Borough Recreation Intellectual Forum in New Kru Town and the Martin Sheriff Intellectual Forum and Veteran Bureau in Duala at the weekend. Our team taught over 30 Members of the two Intellectual centers how to verify information before sharing it. CAMDL Musical Artist sang CAMDL Misinformation and Disinformation Music as part of the Misinfo and Disinfo Awareness Campaign.
According to CAMDL Executive Director, Taweh Johnson, the Organization is going into communities with the campaign to enlighten citizens on the danger of misinformation and disinformation in Liberia and how to verify information before sharing it because even though there are no sounds of guns other potential sources of conflict such as misinformation and disinformation still exist in Liberia.
Members of both Intellectual Centers appreciated the efforts of CAMDL and called on International Partners to support CAMDL in reaching out to the remote parts of Liberia with this campaign.
