CAMDL hosted Election Misinfo and disinfo Training for CSOs in Bomi.

Campaigners Against Misinfo and Disinfo in Liberia hosted Election Misinfo and Disinfo Prevention and Response Training for CSOs at the Bomi Civil Society Intellectual Center in Tubmanburg, Bomi County on Monday, October 9, 2023. This was organized by Campaigners against misinfo & disinfo in Liberia. The training equipped Civil Society Organizations and persons with disabilities with the relevant skills to prevent and respond to Election Misinfo and Disinfo before, during, and after the October 10, 2023 polls.

Over thirty-five(35) persons including heads of CSOs and persons living with disabilities were at the training. According to Taweh Johnson, Executive Director of Campaigners against Misinfo and Disinfo in Liberia, The training was intended to equip Civil Society Organizations with the relevant skills to prevent the spread of misinformation and disinformation in Liberia before, during, and after the October 10, 2023 Polls.

Heads of Civil Society Organizations and persons with disabilities got useful skills and knowledge to prevent the spread of misinformation and disinformation during the electoral period.

Participants commended Campaigners Against Misinfo and Disinfo for the training and promised to be ambassadors in the fight against misinformation and disinformation in Liberia during the Electoral Period and beyond. International Observers from the European Union were at the training.
